A fabulous night of music with a co-headline show of Eddie 9V and Them Coulee Boys!

The Barbary Coast along with the Utah Blues Society presents Alastair Greene for a night of blues. This veteran guitarist is something like you'll never see before. Show starts at 6 PM and ends at 8 PM so everyone get home to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for Monday morning. If you're a music lover, come check this act out because they are amazing, and gracing us for one night of killer, blues and rock. There will be a $10 cover at the door and it will be a 21 and over show. 

There’s something about Tony Holiday that draws people together. In fact, community has been at the core of Holiday’s young career from the beginning. Since relocating from Salt Lake City to Memphis in 2017, Holiday has been at the center of a soul blues revival in Memphis, anchored by a contingent of young, savvy well-schooled musicians with a “family-like” attitude and a strong belief in one another. Mentored by past legends, Holiday and this loose Memphis collective are building on the city’s rich traditions and carrying them forward.

Three time BMA nominee's The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band are "the greatest front-porch blues band in the world". They are led by Reverend Peyton, who most consider to be the premier finger picker playing today. He has earned a reputation as both a singularly compelling performer and a persuasive evangelist for the rootsy, country blues styles that captured his imagination early in life and inspired him and his band to make pilgrimages to Clarksdale, Mississippi to study under such blues masters as T-Model Ford, Robert Belfour and David “Honeyboy” Edwards. Their latest record Dance Songs For Hard Times went #1 on the Billboard, iTunes and Sirius XM Blues Charts and was produced by Grammy winner Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton). The record is critically acclaimed by Rolling Stone, Relix, Popmatters, Guitar World, American Songwriter, No Depression, Glide, Wide Open Country, Paste, American Blues Scene and many more!

ZZ’s first single, “Put The Gun Down,” from her 2012 debut, Til the Casket Drops, broke into the AAA Radio Charts Top 10, and stayed there for 10 weeks. It was followed by the single, “365 Days,” which hit #2 on the charts. Til the Casket Drops also snuck into the Billboard Top 40 Alternative Chart. ZZ’s sophomore album, The Storm, released in 2017, peaked at Number 1 on the Billboard Blues Charts, highlighted by singles featuring GRAMMY-Award winners Fantastic Negrito, “Cannonball,” and Gary Clark Jr., “Ride,” which was also the end title song for Pixar’s feature film Cars 3.

Ronnie Baker Brooks is Blues royalty– the son of Chicago Blues legend Lonnie Brooks– Ronnie has performed with some of the greatest Blues artists of our time, BB King, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Koko Taylor as well as Blues rock legend Eric Clapton. Ronnie was the headliner at the Chicago Blues Festival and plays major Festivals around the world. Ronnie recently teamed up with the legendary Chicago Blues label Alligator Records in a licensing deal to market and distribute his future recordings. Ronnie penned all of the songs on the new record and worked with legendary producer Jim Gaines (Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Miller). The new album will be released in October 2024.

The Canadian blues ingenue turned Texas axe slinger brings over 35 years of professional talent to The State stage. 2025 Grammy® nominee, Sue Foley delivers her own brand of high energy, guitar driven Texas blues along with her band.  Sue's show will consist of set from her Grammy nominated 'One Guitar Woman' album, followed by a set with her band. Not to be missed!

Five long years after he played the Barbary, Albert is coming back!  Currently touring with Bill Murray (yes, THAT Bill Murray) and his Blood Brothers with Mike Zito, Allbert will make a stop in SLC with his own killer band.

Guitar virtuoso Alastair Greene has artfully managed a dynamic solo career while contributing to the music of notable artists such as Grammy-winner Alan Parsons and soul blues Grammy nominee Sugaray Rayford. The Utah Blues Society (UBS) again presents the 9th Annual Utah Blues Festival (UBF) at The GallivanCenter, Friday, June 27, and Saturday, June 28.  Friday’s headliners include the opener, guitarist and vocalist Wayne Baker Brooks out of Chicago – hisbrother Ronnie Baker Brooks has played the UBF twice but this is Wayner’s UBF debut! Carolyn Wonderland also makes her UBF debut after having played at various Utah venues for over 30 years. Also on vocals and guitar is a returnee to the UBF from 2017, Louisiana’s finest, Kenny Neal, the evening’s final headliner.

Saturday starts off at noon with the UBF Youth Blues Band, sponsored by On Track Music. Their debut in kicking off last year’s UBF was a surprise sleeper event of the weekend, making it well worth the effort for the early birds. Talia Keys & the Love follow, with their strong Utah following and blues inspired music. 2023IBC (International Blues Challenge) winner, the young Mathias Lattin out of Houston then takes the stage with his fresh, contemporary blues stylings on vocals and guitar. Another debut UBF headliner, not to be missed, is the soulful blues of the Blackburn Brothers out of Canada. Another alumnus of the UBF, Rick Estrin & the Nightcats follow, having played the 4th Annual 2018 UBF, as did the closer, rocking blues guitarist and vocalist Ana Popovic.

All of us are broken. But no-one is beyond repair. It’s a philosophy that WALTER TROUT has lived by during seven volatile decades at the heart of America’s society and blues-rock scene. Even now, with the world more fractured than ever – by politics, economics, social media and culture wars – the fabled US bluesman’s latest album, Broken, chronicles the bitter schisms of modern life but refuses to succumb to them.

“I’ve always tried to write positive songs, and this album is not quite that,” considers the 72-year-old of an all-original tracklisting that rages and soothes. “But I always hold on to hope. I think that’s why I wrote this album.”

For the last half-century, however rocky his path, hope has always lit the way. The beats of Trout’s unbelievable story are well-known: the traumatic childhood in Ocean City, New Jersey; the audacious move to the West Coast in ’74; the auspicious but chaotic sideman shifts with John Lee Hooker and Big Mama Thornton; the raging addictions that somehow never stopped the boogie when he was with Canned Heat in the early-’80s.
